My Story

My name is Aaron Smith. I was born and raised in Peoria, IL. I'm the oldest of three children. My dad, Denny, retired from Pepsi after 42 years.  My mom, Sue, worked for Bergner’s even longer and is also retired! I attended St. Vincent de Paul, Peoria Notre Dame, ICC, and Bradley University.  I am the proud father of 3 children. Delaney was born in April of 2006 followed very quickly by her younger brother Dawson in February of 2007. My surprise little girl, Austyn, was born in 2014. 

I opened Double A's Pizza, Sports Bar, and Grill on January 1st, 2002 in a small strip mall.  Slowly but surely my staff and I developed a very loyal and very diverse customer base. Back then we believed if you came to visit us once it was our job to please you with great service and great food in order to get you to come back.  Luckily for us people did come back and after a few years we realized we needed a bigger place with a bigger bar, more TV’s, a game room for the kids and of course, more seats!  I opened our new building in January of 2009. My staff and I were fortunate enough to operate in that location for 10 years and thankfully the demand for an even bigger building still existed. In 2018 we decided to take the leap and we’ve been open here in Grand Prairie ever since.

20 years later it’s still my goal and expectation to provide great service and great food every time you visit Double A's.  I am very proud of my restaurant and I am very fortunate to have an incredible staff. On behalf of me and my entire staff, thank you for all the years of loyalty and for all the friendships we’ve made and continue to make!
